WHY IS THERE WATER ON MY AIR VENTS?

Just because you see moisture, does not mean you have a leak.

There is water on the pipes, that must mean something, somewhere is leaking and something, somewhere MUST be broken, right?

Not always.

With changing temperatures and humidity levels across New Jersey, especially in places like Washington Township, Ewing, and Delran, Air Conditioning vents can become covered in condensation. What is this? Well, let us explain.

Your air conditioning unit pushes cooler, more dry air through your vents, thus also going through your duct work. If that ductwork goes through a non climate controlled area, such as an unfinished basement, the basements humid, warm air hitting the metal of the cooler air duct will create a condensing effect.

While this isn’t a major issue, if you’re seeing this with a finished basement, it may be a sign that your insulation is lacking. If this is the case, contact us at Allied Experts and we will come out and take a look at how we can help you.
